We praise God for His abundant blessings and provisions for the ministry of PDHC in 2024, and we look forward with hope and anticipation for our journey together in 2025.
Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
The month of January commemorates our nation’s observance of the sanctity of human life. It is typically recognized on the third Sunday in January as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS).
SOHLS originated in January 1984, when President Ronald Regan issued Proclamation 1547, National Sanctity of Human Life Day, and made the following statement:
“I call upon the citizens of this blessed land to gather on that day in homes and places of worship to give thanks for the gift of life, and to reaffirm our commitment to the dignity of every human being and the sanctity of each human life……we are poorer not simply for lives not led and for contributions not made, but also for the erosion of our sense of the worth and dignity of every individual. To diminish the value of one category of human life is to diminish us all.”
We are blessed to have many community church partners and its members, who boldly stand for the gift of life and support the mission of PDHC in many ways, including through Respect Life missions, Family of Life, Bottles for Life campaigns, volunteer opportunities, diaper and material aid drives, special projects, and so much more.
This past Sunday, our team spoke at several services in commemoration of SOHLS, sharing the impact of their support in 2024. We shared stories of hope through the lives of babies saved, but also for the gift of eternal life for a new mom, who when presented with the gospel, accepts Christ into her life. What a blessing!
Recently, we received a letter from a mom who visited PDHC 12 years earlier. “A wonderful member of your staff helped to save my son from abortion. I was 22 years old and very scared, and I am forever thankful for your organization. My son is so precious and the light of my life…I cannot wait to see the lives he will touch throughout his life,” she wrote. This is a reminder of the generational impact of the lives saved.
PDHC’s Medical Manager and Nurse Alyssa said, “Time and time again, we watch women walk into our center full of doubt, fear, and timidity and then witness them become equipped, resilient, and capable of being the wonderful mother God designed her to be. We’re able to stand beside her and walk with her during her journey and provide practical help and spiritual guidance. The best part? Watching her walk back through our same doors holding her baby that we’ve once met on the ultrasound screen together! What a gift!”
It is because of your support and prayers that we are able to share such incredible impact. Thank you for walking alongside us to Rescue Lives and Impact Generations, One Heartbeat at a Time.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.”
