Julia's Journey: From Uncertainty to Embracing Motherhood

At PDHC, every life matters, and every mother has a story. Today, we are honored to share Julia’s journey—a story of transformation, courage, and hope.

Julia, a young college student, walked into one of our centers carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. She worried about her age, her limited income, and the few months left until graduation. She was also grappling with the weight of her decision, especially as the father of her baby had offered to support any choice she made. Feeling alone and overwhelmed, Julia didn’t know what to expect.

But everything changed when she walked through our doors.

As she waited to be seen, Julia began reading through resources about pregnancy and abortion procedures. With each page, her eyes were opened to the truth. By the time she was invited into the ultrasound room, her heart had already begun to soften.

In that quiet room, surrounded by compassionate staff, Julia experienced a life-changing moment. Seeing her baby on the screen for the first time brought tears to her eyes. She felt a sense of safety and comfort that allowed her to embrace her emotions fully. For the first time, she felt she wasn’t alone. She accepted prayers and support from the staff and realized that this little life was a precious gift from God.

By the time Julia left our center, her heart was filled with a new sense of purpose.

She had moved from feeling undecided to confidently choosing to parent.

Throughout her pregnancy and delivery, Julia continued to feel the love and care of the PDHC team. From ultrasound services to thoughtful gifts and regular check-ins, she saw firsthand how deeply people cared for her, her baby, and her journey. Julia welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world, and she describes how meaningful it has been to receive support every step of the way.

Reflecting on her experience, Julia shared, “Without support, encouragement, and understanding, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t be someone’s mommy!”

As Julia concludes sharing her story, she offers a message of hope and encouragement to life affirming work.

She asks each of us to, “Keep pushing for greatness. Keep loving moms and their children. Even when it feels overwhelming, your support means everything. I know you are here for me!”

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Galatians 6:9
