As we discerned our ministry’s scripture focus for the year, we were met with a renewed spirit to share Truth and Hope. These words are a reminder that God calls each of us to boldly proclaim the truth surrounding the sanctity of human life while offering unwavering hope to those facing unexpected or challenging pregnancies. Since 1981, God has protected and provided for the ministry of PDHC as a beacon of hope to new moms and their babies, dads, and families in the community. As it says in Romans 8:31, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
The truth is, abortions are increasing in Ohio since the passing of Issue 1 in 2023, which enshrined abortion into our state’s constitution. PDHC provides hope to women reaching out to our hotline for help or walking through the doors of one of our four pregnancy centers, providing love and compassionate care, helping to make abortion unnecessary. As Nurse Lauren from our Campus Center shares, “Due to our location, we often have clients “accidentally” walking in, believing they’ve arrived somewhere else. In 2024, we had nearly 90 walk-in clients either stay for an appointment, book a future appointment, or accept information about PDHC’s services. Several of these women were seeking abortion services, but after learning about the resources available to them and talking through all their options, many chose to parent instead. We provide pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and limited STI testing (all free!), along with full options consultations for women who are facing an unexpected or unplanned pregnancy." The truth is, in Franklin County, at least 81% of abortions are chemical abortions via the abortion pill. Since late 2019, PDHC has provided hope to women who regretted starting a chemical abortion and wanted a second chance to save the life of their baby, through Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) Services, helping to save more lives. PDHC is currently 1 of only 8 pregnancy centers is Ohio providing APR services. How does APR work? Read here: Abortion Pill Rescue Network Impact Report |
The truth is, over 65 million babies have been lost to abortion since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision (this does not include states that do not report abortion statistics, such as California and New York). Imagine The Ohio State Stadium with a capacity of 102,780. You would have to fill the stadium 632 times to reach 65 million. PDHC has provided hope since 1981 through over 158,500 visits to our four pregnancy centers, and thousands of lives have been saved and changed.
The truth is, 1 in 4 women have had an abortion experience, and 50% of those women go on to have multiple abortions. PDHC provides hope, healing, and redemption through Abortion Recovery Services. Call/Text the 24/7 CareLine at 614-721-2100 for help.
Thank you for helping us share truth and provide hope in central Ohio for over 44 years. Kathy Scanlon, PDHC President |
